I know that many of you out there really enjoy the traditional waterfall braid. This one takes the waterfall braid to a whole new level and puts a twist into it! Although it is very difficult to demonstrate the braid and how it works, this tutorial is designed to make it as simple as possible for you to recreate this lovely braid. All you will need for this tutorial is:
1) Hairbrush
2) 2 small hair elastics
3) A bobby pin or 2
4) Hair extensions (optional)
Step 1: Brush your hair from bottom to top
Step 2: Take section of hair from top of one side and seperate into 2 equal strands
Step 3: Take the strand closest to your face and cross it over the back strand
Step 4: Repeat step 3
Step 5: Take a strand from the top and place it in the opening of 2 twisted strands
Step 6: Twist the strands upwards and then repeat.
Step 7: Repeats steps 5 and 6 until you have reached your desired look.
Step 8: Once you have reached your desired length with this braid, pick a point where you will start he rope braid
Step 9: Start the rope braid by taking the two strands that you were twisting and twist each strand in the same direction towards your face.
Step 10: Twist these strands in the opposite direction or away from your face.
Step 11: Repeat steps 9 and 10 until you have reached your desired length.
Step 12: Secure the rope braid with 2 small hair elastics
Step 13: Go back and make adjustments to your waterfall braid
Step 14: Use the bobby pins to secure the braids in place.
There you have it. This is a very beautiful variation on the waterfall braid and I hope you will enjoy this braid. This really is a great hairstyle for prom or outdoor summer wedding, but of course, I would also recommend it for casual dates.
